Music Of The Week Playlist.
It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these but I’m not going to bore you lots with the formalities so firstly we have an artist, Bawo. to list a couple of my favourites:
Mazzalean: “We all know why they don’t wanna rap with me” because they can’t compete! Next up is Sungba (the original & remix) This song has moved mountains and is honestly the epitome of what an afrobeat vibe is right now. I can’t stress enough how much I love this song, still yet to hear it in a dance but I know I’ll just lose all composure. If for some reason you’ve been living under a rock and haven’t heard this? Do us justice and stream that. At the end of the night EP - Gabzy Someone tell Gabzy to bless us with an album! One of my friends said she’s grateful for whoever is breaking his heart all the time and I can't even lie so am I. The quality of music this man produces is out of this world, one of my favourite artists always & forever. And Rice & Peas? He’s gotta tell us how he did that cause I’m obsessed. Last Last - Burna Boy The “Love, Damini” album comes out July 1st and Burna has left me wanting more, this should be illegal. Whoever produced this is a goat & I can’t wait to see this being performed. What an amazing tune. O2 - Oxlade You see this song yeah? Please clear the area. “YOU ARE THE AIR OH, THAT I BREATHE”. I don’t know what kind of crack it is Oxlade but you’ve got me on it too. The vocals on this one are so clear I’m unhealthily addicted. Coffee - Odeal You guys should already know how I feel about this man’s music. It was previewed & I was in love, it was released & I’m infatuated. “Wake up and smell the coffee ‘cause liking pictures isn’t enough for me to know, that you’re tryna get involved with me”, tell em O ‘cause approach me, beating around the bush ain’t us no more. WRAP UP WRAP UP. I really listen to anything so please send music my way, I’m always open to listening to new music. omw to fw Kendrick’s album brb - Miriam.

Music Of The Week Playlist.
First music blog in a while, it’s only right I start with a project I myself really enjoy. Frenzola himself has announced that this is his last mixtape and also performed this a couple of days ago. I don’t know if we’re saying goodbye forever but he’s left us with a treasure. Let’s get into our Top 5 of Kareem Mclean 2. At #1 I have Calculated Gamble/She’s so smart feat. Izco & Jaydonclover I like the way Frenzy talks about women, especially this one that he admires. It feels so intimate. I resonate with the woman’s shock of him bringing her to the studio because take me to any musical environment and I’ll forever be grateful. But I will say though I don’t necessarily agree with what she says about gender roles. I believe women are appreciative of the pros of being “behind a man” but some women also want to experience the limelight, and that’s okay. Either way it really was a calculated gamble because it’s quite perfectly calibrated, felt like a thinking piece and music of these days doesn’t really make me do that. Genuinely is my favourite. #2 Tell Me Lies FEAT. Kadiata & AyChibs I want to compliment him on his simplistic beats. It's such a chill vibe. When he says “tell me lies” it’s the most realistic thing ever because they really only “tell the truth in private”. People would much prefer to live fanatically than ever wake up to the world we’re engulfed in. #3 Kareem’s Affirmations [Interlude] I really like this, as a Muslim he’s expressing the true urges and yet difficulties of growing and following religion. Not enough people actually address the issues with addiction to lustrous things. “Kareem means generous, noble, honourable”. This line stuck with me because it’s crazy to want to live up to your name with no familial attachment or generational success, just because it means what it means and that’s what you aspire to be. #4 Only Fools & Horses feat. Ruben Joy This has to be my favourite beat on the mixtape alongside coming home, it’s so immersive and I love the keys. “See there’s only fools & horses, only fools endorse it, you can be fools in Porsches.” To me this is a perfect view of society ‘cause recently there really are “fools in Porches”, the system isn’t winning anymore, there are loopholes to success. #5 Coming Home That bass on this beat? wow. This is giving secondary school love, misplaced priorities and all in all soft life. You can tell he’s humbly admitting to his mistakes, but the way he’s storytelling it’s literally almost as if he’s saying it is what it is. To sum up, this is one of my favourite mixtapes of the year so far. Honestly I didn’t know if I liked it at first but I’ve realised depending on how intently you listen, is really how hard it’ll impact you. Frenzy is a lyricist, take him in - Miriam. |
